International Partnerships and Networking

International Partnerships and Networking

The Institute is organizing its course in cooperation with other partners with similar concerns and willingness to contribute to the regeneration of mountain areas. The integration of the Institute into the Mediterranean, European and international potential of people and institutions for the mountains is a priority. The aim is to create an "independent and highly regarded and recognized 'Think Tank'". This think tank will both support and support the creation of an international thematic scientific and research network of high recognition on issues related to sustainable territorial development of mountain areas. The core of this network already includes researchers and institutions from countries with a long tradition of mountain management and development such as Austria, France, Switzerland and Italy. The expansion of the network is a key objective for the Institute and therefore collaborations are sought both with international institutions whose focus is on research and education and others focusing on information and implementation of European/international programs as well as with renowned academics, researchers and experts. Networking is achieved through the Institute's participation in International Organizations, Associations and Networks as well as through the conclusion and implementation of Scientific Cooperation Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding.

Cooperation network of expatriate Cypriot Troodites

Expatriates are an important resource for mountain regions. They maintain links based on the memories and narratives of those who came before them, the landscape that remains recognizable and their social and cultural networking. The MountMed Institute will seek to develop in an innovative way its relations with the world of the Troodos expatriates by organizing a network of cooperation between Cypriot Troodos expatriates. The innovative nature of such a project is based on the fact that it will aim to strengthen the relations of specific groups of expatriates of mountain origin with their specific places of origin, on the basis of actions of mutual interest.
